COURSE OUTLINE:

This course covers the basic concepts of networked computers including the basics of file management on local and remote computers, electronic mail, Internet browsers, and web page development. Students are also exposed to applications used in business for solving problems, communicating, and making informed decisions, including word processors, presentation software, electronic spreadsheets, and databases. The characteristics of computer hardware and software used in implementing various applications are considered. Students will develop skills in utilizing applications that run on different computer platforms.

- Chapter 7: Application Software

MODULE (4) NETWORK
- Chapter 8: Communication and Networks
- Chapter 9: The Internet and The World Wide Web

MODULE (5) INTERNET APPLICATIONS

METHOD OF INSTRUCTION

The students will be introduced to all of the course topic areas through a combination of lectures, demonstration.


EVALUATION Students will be evaluated as follows:

Midterm Exam 20
Quizzes 20
Attendance 5
Project 5
Final Exam 50

ATTENDENCE POLICY


o Fail to attend 3 hours => initial warning
o Fail to attend 6 hours => Final warning
o Fail to attend 9 hours => FA
